The etching process creates plaques with two levels of graphics - recessed and raised.

Etching Depth
Depths may range from .010" to .020" dependent upon size, detail of artwork and material selected.

Halftones
Halftone photographs have a shallow etching depth of .003" to .007". Photo must be 300 dpi.

Recessed Graphics
Infilled with a painted color. Brass alloys may be chemically oxidized to appear darker.

Raised Graphics
Background painted or chemicially oxidized, depending on material. Small lettering with fine serifs is not recommended.

Stencil-Cut Graphics
Ideal for signage with dissimilar metals. Requires backlighting or it exposes the installation wall. Also used for accurate placement of holes and cut-out areas.
